Terms of Service

Welcome to Ante. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ante website at getante.today and any related services, features, and content (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Ante ("Ante," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Ante Is (and Is Not)

Ante is a free educational game with two parts: financial literacy lessons, and play-money prediction markets played within private groups.

Ante is not:

• Gambling or a betting service. No real money, cryptocurrency, or anything of monetary value is wagered, deposited, won, lost, or paid out on the Service. Acorns and all in-game items are play-money with no cash value.
• Financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Lesson content is for general educational purposes only. Nothing on the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial product, or to take any financial action. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
• A real prediction market or trading venue. Markets on the Service are entertainment features between friends. Prices, odds, and outcomes have no financial meaning and no connection to any real-money market.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that any information you provide is accurate.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to anyone else.
• You must notify us promptly at contact@getante.today of any unauthorized use of your account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms (see Section 11).

4. Acorns and Virtual Items

"Acorns" are Ante's in-game virtual currency. Shop items, streak protectors, boosts, badges, and other in-game items (together with Acorns, "Virtual Items") are features of the Service.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Virtual Items have no monetary value. They cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or cashed out for real money, goods, services, or anything of value outside the Service.
• You do not own Virtual Items. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use Virtual Items within the Service. They are not your property and are not transferable outside the Service.
• No buying, selling, or trading for real value. You may not purchase, sell, trade, gift, or transfer Virtual Items for real money or anything of value, on or off the Service. Any attempt to do so is void and grounds for account termination.
• We may modify Virtual Items at any time. We may adjust, reset, add, remove, or change the availability, earn rates, prices, or effects of Virtual Items - including individual account balances - at our sole discretion, for reasons including balance changes, bug fixes, abuse prevention, or seasonal resets, without liability to you.
• Virtual Items may be lost on termination. If your account is terminated or the Service is discontinued, all Virtual Items are forfeited without compensation.

5. Prediction Markets and Groups

• Markets exist inside private, invite-only groups. Content posted in a group (including markets, positions, and comments) is visible to that group's members.
• Market outcomes are resolved socially, not financially. Resolution of markets is determined by the market creator, designated resolver, or group mechanism as configured within the Service. We are not obligated to arbitrate disputes over market outcomes, though we may (at our discretion) intervene, void a market, or adjust balances to address abuse or manifest error.
• You are responsible for the markets you create. Do not create markets that harass, defame, bully, or humiliate any person; that concern a person's health, sexual activity, death, or other sensitive matters without their consent; that involve minors inappropriately; or that encourage illegal activity. We may remove any market or content at our discretion.
• Markets about real people require basic decency. Creating markets about identifiable people who are not consenting members of your group is prohibited.
• Group admins and market creators do not act on Ante's behalf.

6. User Content

"User Content" means anything you create or post on the Service, including markets, resolution criteria, comments, usernames, and group names.

• You retain ownership of your User Content.
• You grant Ante a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content as needed to operate, improve, and promote the Service.
• You represent that your User Content does not violate any law or any third party's rights.
• We may remove or moderate User Content at any time, for any reason, without notice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any real-money gambling, wagering, or gaming purpose, or to facilitate any of the above;
• Harass, threaten, bully, defame, or intimidate any person, or create markets or content designed to do so;
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• Cheat, exploit bugs, use bots, scripts, or automation to earn Acorns, manipulate markets, or gain unfair advantage;
• Create multiple accounts to farm currency, manipulate markets, or evade a suspension;
• Attempt to sell, buy, or transfer accounts or Virtual Items for real value;
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service or its security features;
• Upload malicious code or content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
• Use the Service if you are under 13, or violate any applicable law.

We may investigate violations and take any action we deem appropriate, including content removal, balance adjustments, suspension, or termination, and reporting to law enforcement where required.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service - including lesson content, quizzes, design, graphics, logos, the Ante name, and software - is owned by Ante or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, no rights are granted to you. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent.

If you submit feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.

9. Educational Content Disclaimer

Lesson content is reviewed for general accuracy but is provided "as is" for educational purposes. Financial products, rates, laws, and regulations change, and content may not reflect your personal circumstances or the most current information. Nothing on the Service is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and no advisor-client relationship is created by using the Service. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ante and its founders, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, Virtual Items, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
• Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which, for a free service, is zero) or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Suspension and Termination

• By you: You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time via account settings or by contacting contact@getante.today.
• By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, suspected abuse, legal reasons, or discontinuation of the Service.
• Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends and all Virtual Items are forfeited. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13) survive termination.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Informal resolution first: Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at contact@getante.today and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

13. General

• Changes to the Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
• Changes to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service (including seasons, lessons, markets, and Virtual Items) at any time without liability.
• Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Ante regarding the Service.
• Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
